Frequent Asked Questions

The claims process is usually stressful and complicated, but we have answers for most of your questions. Find the here or call me.

What is a Public Adjuster?

A public adjuster is an insurance claims adjuster who advocates for the policyholder during an insurance claim process. We are licensed professionals that property owners hire when they experience property damage.

What do Public Adjusters charge?

Public adjusters typically charge a small percentage (usually 10%) of the total amount they helped you collect for your claim. Some public adjusters charge a flat rate to handle your claim, while others charge an hourly rate.

Most public adjusters work on a contingency basis, which means they don’t get paid until you accept your insurance company’s final offer. In Florida, the maximum percentage that a public adjuster can charge for a claim is 20% of the claim paid after you sign the contract with them.

What questions should I ask before hiring a Public Adjuster?
  • What types of claims are handled?
  • Is the company licensed within the state?
  • How long has the company been in business?
  • Ask that the adjuster provide industry references.
  • How are business interruption claims addressed?
  • How many claims are currently being handled?
Will I get a Higher Settlement if I hire you?

Yes. You will almost always receive a higher settlement from the insurance company if you use a Public Adjuster because your claim will be presented much more favorably and with careful attention to your policy coverage.

Typically, the more detailed and complete your claim is, the higher the settlement will be. I review all the evidence step-by-step, carefully inspect the loss site, and accurately document the damage.

After a loss, when should I call you?

You should call me immediately after a loss. It is most beneficial for all parties when I get involved at the beginning of the claim development so I can set the tone for the entire process.

My claim was denied, am I entitled to a second opinion?

Yes! Many of my clients were told their claim was denied. I reopened the loss, negotiated with their insurance company, and insisted they pay for viable damages.
